More than a dozen years ago I launched Sweet Peas Design in Libertyville as a way to combine my creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, and I’ve never been happier or more excited. From a one-woman, home-based firm I have nurtured Sweet Peas Design into a well-respected studio with a talented, creative team, a branch office in Chicago and a discerning clientele of executives and entrepreneurs. Our LivableLuxe™ style has become known for its relaxed comfort and refinement. I consider it the “little black dress of interior design™” - perfect no matter what the occasion. Sweet Peas Design is not my first foray into running a business. I headed my own marketing/communications firm for 7 years before discovering my true calling in design. The arts have always been an integral part of my life. I took art history, drawing and design classes while majoring in advertising at the University of Illinois and I earned a master’s in advertising from Northwestern. My roots run deep in the Chicago area. I was born and grew up in Deerfield, raised my two children in Libertyville and now live in Chicago’s Gold Coast. I am a board member for The Design Trust Ltd., an exclusive, New York-based think tank of interior designers nationwide. I also am allied with ASID and I am a member of Chicago’s River North Design District. On the philanthropic side I am a member of the Career Advisory Committee for Harper College’s Interior Design program and my team and I have participated twice in the Infant Welfare Society’s Lake Forest Showhouse. My work has been broadcast and published in a wide range of local and national media. I love fashion, art and discovering design inspiration during my travels.
